INTRODUCTION TO ICG-18
The 18th Annual Meeting of the International Conference on Genomics (ICG-18) is scheduled to be held from April 12th to 28th, 2023 in various locations including Zhangjiajie, Beijing, Nanjing, Wenzhou, Shanghai, Wuhan (to be held concurrently), Shenzhen (to be held concurrently), Singapore, Hangzhou, and London (to be determined ).
The ICG-18 will continue to promote the Spirit of the Human Genome Project (HGP), i.e. “Owned by All, Done by All, Shared by All”, and advocate global cooperation and sharing with all humankind, facilitates international cooperation among developing nations in particular.
The themes of the ICG-18 would cover Review and reflection on the 25th Anniversary of the Preparatory Meeting of the China Chapter;The 20th Anniversary of Completion of the International HGP&Biodiversity;HGP and Phenomics/Multiomics;HGP and Omics and Optometry;HGP and Regional Development of Life Sciences & Bioindustry in Central/Western/ China;HGP and Vocational Education;From the Electronic Century to the Biological Century;The 70th Anniversary of the Discovery of DNA Double Helix and Life Science and Industry Forum in Yangtze Delta Region.

Commemorative Activities

ICG-18 will bring a number of exciting activities to commemorate the milestones in the history of life sciences, including:
1)the 20th Anniversary of Completion of the International HGP;
2)the 50th Anniversary of "the First Quote" in the Life Sciences (T. Dubzhansky);
3)the 70th Anniversary of the discovery of the DNA double helix structure;
4)the 80th Anniversary of lectures on the “WHAT IS LIFE” and others.

Innovation Forum

ICG-18 will set up venues in cities such as Zhangjiajie Cili, Beijing, Nanjing, Wenzhou, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Wuhan (TBD), Singapore (TBD) to review and commemorate the historical significance of HGP in China and the world. The conference will also add multiple roundtable forums and special seminars in fields such as the latest scientific and industrial progress in anti-aging and analysis of global bio-industry and investment layout.

Green Development

To help achieve sustainable development goals, ICG-18 will adopt the Green Meeting Standard (T/CGDF00027-2021), promoting the recycling of conference materials, reducing energy consumption, printing materials, food waste, and disposable bottled water, and using online methods to hold the conference, encouraging the purchase of ecological carbon credits and other methods to effectively reduce the conference's biodiversity and carbon footprint.
