About ICG Special Symposium

This is no ordinary academic conference — it's an intimate, invitation-only gathering of peers who knew Prof James D. Watson, learned from him, and walked the scientific trail he blazed.

We gather in Beijing to mark one year since his passing, in the style Jim preferred: no stuffy ceremonies, no lengthy speeches, no empty platitudes. Just real stories, sharp ideas, and unscripted, curious conversation.

The program opens with the Session "Jim and I" — unfiltered personal memories of his razor-sharp questions, unexpected insights, and signature dry wit — followed by the Session "On the Path Paved by Jim", exploring today's life science frontiers: AI, genomics, and the bold questions shaping our future.
